Today is European Stroke Awareness Day. A stroke is caused by a disturbance of blood supply to the brain. It is important to know the signs of stroke and to act FAST. Face - Has the face fallen to the side? Can they smile? Arms - Can they raise both arms and keep them raised? Speech - Is their speech slurred? Time - Call 999 if you spot any of these signs.
